As discussed in our blog post from earlier this month, Visi-Trak team members, Tom
Vann and Arick Kaschalk attended the NADCA Plant Management Conference in Milwaukee, WI from May 3rd-May 5th. Accompanied by John Cleary, Plant Manager of Aavid Allcast, Arick delivered a presentation on Shot Control Upgrades. Arick and John’s presentation can be viewed here.
The two main topics that were focused on during the conference were increasing productivity and also die temperature monitoring. These are two topics that Visi-Trak knows very well, as our company is based on increasing productivity, which not only advances the die casting process, but also leads to increased profits and better OEE.
In addition to Arick’s presentation, several other presentations were given. A notable presentation was given by Hal Gerber of Shiloh Industries in Pleasant Prairie, WI. Hal’s presentation was on “Castings in the World of Structural Requirements”. The point of Hal’s presentation that hit home with many of the attendees was that the die casting industry is in the midst of experiencing many changes. As a result, the industry is going to have to do its best to stay up to speed with the rest of the world. Consistency is going to be very important in achieving this.
For an industry that is facing so many new opportunities and challenges, continual improvement and progress is a must if die casters are going to meet the needs of their customers. With intensive and ongoing research and development, Visi-Trak has stood the test of time, providing unparalleled advances in technology and support to our customers.
